We need to search for a specified (exact) text in PDF and highlight it in the viewer. Is there any way to do this?

Yes, of course.
Please look at PdfSearch Class for asynchronous search, PdfText.Find Method and PdfFind Class for synchronous search and PdfViewer.HighlightText Method for highlight found text.

Also you can see the implementation of asynchronous search and scrolling down to the found record in the source code (PdfToolStripSearch.cs). This is the toolbar that implement the search functionality for WinForms PdfViewer. For WPF you can do likewise if you wish.
